Dance/movement therapy is not just dancing and moving. Small shifts in movement and breath are also taken into account. It is not dance lessons, however, some technique can be introduced and incorporated in a session. Dance/movement therapists may also incorporate a mind-body technique such as yoga that targets the client’s goals like improving balance and strength. DMT is a specialized form of treatment that requires extensive training at a master’s level and clinical supervision. "As a dance/movement therapist I acknowledge all movement by seeing the individual as who they are and what they can do, and not what they cannot do”.
